.NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the only one intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, just 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no special stipulations on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME universal top-level domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the right spelling in your native language.
